NigelHi - I’m Nigel Cheshire, CEO of Enerjy Software, and I started this blog because I think we have some interesting things to say about software quality. We also want to hear what others have to say about it, and I’m hoping that eventually, more people will enter the dialog. Time will tell!

Before I was CEO of Enerjy, I founded and headed up Teamstudio, and before that, I was a co-founder and principal of Ives & Company, a UK-based CRM software vendor that was acquired by Aspective. Even before that, I worked in the software R&D group at Data General Corp - a minicomputer manufacturer. I got my interest in software quality from leaving DG, where quality was a big deal, and starting to work with Windows/386 and Word For Windows 1.0 where, I guess, quality took a back seat to features.

I believe that the key to solving the software industry’s quality problem lies in metrics - starting to measure those factors that influence quality at an early stage in the development process. As you can imagine, that is what Enerjy is all about, but you don’t need to use our products to start down the path - and that is what this blog is all about.
